Our School
The Northville Cooperative Preschool (NCP) was founded in 1951 as a non-profit, parent-run program for the children of Northville and surrounding communities. NCP is one of the largest cooperative preschools in the state of Michigan.
Many preschools nurture children, but ours nurtures families. In this way, NCP is like no other. When a family joins, their child joins a classroom where the additional presence of parents creates special warmth. The parents join a community that places very high value on active involvement in their child and education. When parents volunteer in the classroom, they have opportunities to interact with NCP's highly trained and certified teachers, as well as other parents in a meaningful way. They are able to learn new parenting techniques and strategies for dealing with typical preschooler behavior.
With our focus on social and emotional growth as well as community, NCP helps our students to become good children, as well as good students. Through hands-on learning, children are encouraged to explore and use their imaginations. The curriculum is rich with art, music, dance, literature, math and is balanced with opportunities for child-directed play.
We offer half-day educational programs for children 2 years to 5 years of age.
